DEXTER – Philip Perley Pynes, 68, died Sept. 20, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Aug. 10, 1937, in Dexter, the son of Perley and Alice (Howell) Pynes. He graduated from Dexter schools. For many years he and his father worked as proprietors of the Dexter Bottling Company. Upon the closing of the Bottling Company he worked for a good many years in the machine shop at Eastland Woolen Mill. He was also a reserve member of the Dexter Police Department. He is survived by many special friends who he called his family for many years. He is also survived by a godchild, Michelle Marie Shorey of Burlington. Phil’s request was that his adopted “family” be listed; Carmie and Vinal Shorey of Burlington, Roger and Shirley Belanger of Dexter, Linwood and Tina Green of Madison, Jimmy Emerson of Corinna, Larry Cookson and daughter, Virginia, both of Dover-Foxcroft, and many more. He will also be remembered by Bobby and Nancy. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with Pastor A. Maurice Neal officiating. Phil, being a “dog person”, would in lieu of flowers, love a donation on his behalf be made to the Bangor Humane Society. Phil’s kindness will go on through the animals. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
