FORT KENT and WALLAGRASS – Franklin “Blackie” R. Labbe, 72, died Oct. 21, 2006, surrounded by his family at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born Feb. 10, 1934, at Eagle Lake, the son of Thomas and Adrienne (Morneault) Labbe. Franklin worked for Great Northern Paper Co. for 17 years. He is survived by his wife, Lola (Caron) Labbe of Fort Kent; three sons, Dana Labbe and his wife, Joyce, of Fort Kent, Gary Labbe and his wife, Pauline, of Frenchville and Karl Labbe and his wife, Missie, of Hollis Center; two daughters, Diane Plourde and her husband, Maynard, of Fort Kent and Sherry Labbe of Belgrade; two sisters, Mary Kennedy of Easton and Geneva Baldwin of Presque Isle; five grandchildren, Jesse Fox and Kristen Fox, Kyle Labbe and Katelyn Labbe and Ryan Plourde; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Oneil Labbe. At his request there will be no visiting hours. Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Soldier Pond. Burial will be after at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wallagrass. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, 194 East Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are being conducted by the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
