ROBBINSTON – Franklin J. Pottle, 72, died Oct. 12, 2003, at a Calais healthcare fac-ility. He was born March 16, 1931, at Perry, the son of Wesley Edwin and Gladys Helene (Johnson) Pottle. Franklin was an Army veteran and served during the Korean War. He worked at Guilford Industries for several years and in 1963, moved to Maryland. During the 1980s, he returned to Maine where he worked as a mechanic in the Calais area for many years. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Leonard Pottle and Richard Pottle. Surviving are his loving companion of many years, Roberta Pottle; one daughter, Lani Pottle of Maryland; two brothers, Carrol Pottle of Connecticut and Shirl Pottle of Perry and a loving and devoted sister, Marvelle Pottle of Calais; a very special niece, Brenda Bishop of Perry and many nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Brewer Cemetery, Robbinston, by Pastor Bob Hinton. Donations in his memory to the First Baptist Church of Milltown, care of Pastor Bob Hinton, 70 Boardman St., Calais, ME 04619, would be appreciated.
