SOUTHAMPTON, LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – Craig Philip Hufnagel, 44, died Oct. 13, 2003, at his home. Born May 9, 1959, in Stamford, Conn., he was the son of Jean and Virginia Kliesrath Hufnagel. Craig spent four years at the American School in Brussels, Belgium, prior to attending high school in Darien, Conn. He then attended the Culinary Institute of America, graduating in 1980. Craig graduated with a degree in culinary arts and worked as a sous chef and chef in the Ritz Carlton in Chicago, Boston Park Plaza, Colony House in Charleston, S.C., Kiawah Island in Charleston, S.C., Birmingham Turf Club in Alabama and most recently as a caterer in Southampton, Long Island, N.Y. In addition to being a great chef, Craig and his partner, Anita Perino, hold a patent for a unique gold bag called a Caddy-Pac. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and his five years spent in Europe. Craig is survived by his parents of Belfast; one sister, Janet Hufnagel Muri and husband, Anthony, of Barington, R.I.; two brothers, Douglas Hufnagel of Belfast and Leigh Hufnagel and wife, Nancy, of Naugatuck, Conn.; seven nieces and nephews; and one great-niece. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Calling hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17. Private family burial at Grove Cemetery.
