NORTH NEW PORTLAND – Frederick E. Small, 52, passed away May 15, 2005, at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, of kidney failure. Fred was a 1972 graduate of Hampden Academy and attended Husson College. Fred was a chef at Paul’s restaurant in Bangor in the 1980s and at Crescent Court and Double Tree Inn of Spokane, Wash., in the 1990s before moving back to Maine in 2003, following retirement. Fred was predeceased by his adopted daughter, Katie Seamon in 1994; and by his parents, Pearl and Alonzo Small of Winterport. Fred was a man who was well remembered by all for his joyful demeanor, constant smile and quick laugh. Fred is survived by his two sisters, Dale MacAlpine of Verona, and Tina Holsomback of Shreveport, La.; three nephews, Wayne Hutchinson of Orland, David Hutchinson of Bath, Shawn Hutchinson of Verona; a niece, Angel Seibert of Bucksport; and by his loving wife, Jenna Small of North New Portland. A memorial service will be held to honor his life of loyalty and devotion 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at the Farmington Baptist Church, 194 Whittier Road, Farmington. Flowers may be sent to the Farmington Baptist Church or a donation in lieu there of may be sent to the Farmington Humane Society.
