BUCKSPORT – Frederick “Fred” Everett Rayner Jr., 63, died Sept. 3, 2006 at a Bangor hos-pital. He was born Jan. 8, 1943, in Boston, the son of Frederick E. and Ella L. (Blaisdell) Rayner Sr. He was a graduate of Franklin High School, Franklin, Mass. Fred entered the Army National Guard in 1963 and retired in 1981. He worked for Cyr Bus Line for the school season and the Island Explorer in the summer. Fred was co-owner of the Orland Saw Shop. He was a very honored and respected member of the Katahdin Area of Boy Scouts and a member of the Orland Fire Department for many years. Fred is survived by his mother, Ella L. Blaisdell of Bucksport and Bangor; sons, Charles Rayner of Bucksport and Jayson Rayner of Ogunquit; daughter, Shelli Rayner of Auburn; two sisters, Barbara and her husband, Jerry Wood, of Byfield, Mass., Ruth and her husband, Robert Gomes, of Bucksport; grandson, Ethan Jackson of Auburn. He was predeceased by his wife, Linda Ann (Graves) Rayner; his father, Frederick E. Rayner Sr.; and brother, William G. Rayner. Friends are invited to call 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Morgan Bay Cemetery, Surry.
