FREDERICK ‘HARRY’ WALKER JR. BANGOR AND GLENBURN – Frederick “Harry” Walker Jr., 89, passed away peacefully, Sept. 14, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 21, 1916, in Enfield, the son of Frederick and Lovina (Tourtillotte) Walker. Harry proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 310th Signal Corp serving in Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was an auto mechanic in the Bangor area for many years and greatly enjoyed going dancing at Auto Rest Park. Harry loved cats and especially, “Spunky”. He is survived by his loving wife, Mertie B. “Peggy” (Wheaton) Walker of Glenburn; two daughters and their husbands, Linda Lou and Larry Barghultz of Great Falls, Mont., and Sandi Jean and Jerry Granholm of Hampden; one sister and her husband, Gertrude and Roger Tourtillotte of Passadumkeag; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Granholm and his wife, Jennifer, of Old Town, Tawny and her husband, Kenny Eaton of Helena, Mont., and Michelle and her husband, Casey Peterson, of Plentywood, Mont.; three great-granddaughters, Cortney, Karli, and Larymie; one great-grandson, Chase; a very special family friend, Donna Duren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, with the Rev. Richard Reynolds, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the funeral service. Interment with Military Honors will be 1 p.m. Monday, Sept 19, at the Lincoln Cemetery.
