PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. Frederick Henry Yeager, 86, died May 9, 2007. He was born May 26, 1920, in Woodhaven, N.Y., to Frederick and Mary (Schmitt) Yeager. He was the devoted husband of the late Alvina Yeager. Fred met Alvina in Richmond Hill, N.Y., and moved to South Ozone Park, N.Y., after they had their son, Donald. They lived there for 30 years while Fred worked on the Long Island Railroad. When he retired in 1976, Fred and Alvina moved to Stockton Springs, where they enjoyed retirement until Alvina passed away in September 1995. In 2004, Fred moved to Prescott Valley, Ariz., with his son, Donald; his daughter-in-law, Sally and her mother, Ann Cuevas. He was the proud and cherished grandfather of Jessica Yeager; dear brother-in-law of Ernie Riley and Joe Riley; loving uncle of Donna Davis and Bill Ponath. He was loved by his two extended families, the Dennis and Judie Ruff family of Bethpage, Long Island, N.Y., and the Darlene and Lucky Hodgdon family of Stockton Springs. Reposing at Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Bethpage Funeral Home, 20 Hicksville Road, one mile north of Southern State Parkway, Exit 29, Bethpage, N.Y. A funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, Long Island, N.Y.
