PITTSFIELD – Frederick W. Adler Jr., 69, died Oct. 6, 2004, after a long battle with Parkinson’s dis-ease at the Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility in Pittsfield. He was born Oct. 23, 1934, in Presque Isle, the son of Frederick W. Adler Sr. and Christine (Simonson) Adler. He graduated from Pennell Institute in Gray, Class of 1953. He married the former Carol Hamblet on Aug. 31, 1957, in Gray. He was a school bus driver from 1954 to 1963 in SAD District No. 15. Then from 1963 to 1981 he was employed by Trailways of New England. He also built homes in the Gray area from 1960 to 1982. He was a past member of the Kiwanis Hall in Gray, a past member of the Cub Scouts Pack No. 86, and a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union. He served in the U.S. Marine Reserves. He loved to work and enjoyed his garden. Survivors in addition to his wife of 47 years, Carol, of Pittsfield; one son, Timothy Adler and his wife, Paula, of Newport; one daughter, Wanda Caron and her husband, Mike, of Portland; one sister Bea Muzzy and her husband, George, of Gray; one brother, Robert Adler and his wife, Merilyn, of Lake Wales, Fla.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, father and one sister, Emma Hilton. There will be no funeral services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, Pittsfield. Donations can be made in his memory to the Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility, 33 Leighton St., Pittsfield, ME 04967, or a charity of ones choice.
