PORTLAND – Gail S. Bailey, 54, of Norway, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Maine Medical Center. She was born in Bangor, Sept. 13, 1951, the daughter of Ken and Kay Small. She graduated from Hampden Academy in the Class of 1969. She married Steven F. Bailey in 1994. She had been employed at Verizon as a central office technician before retiring in 1997. She and her husband owned and operated Bailey’s Pole Line Construction Co. until 2005 when they sold the business. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed crafts. She loved her dog “Pal”. She is survived by her husband, Steven of Norway; her parents, Ken and Kay Small of South Paris; stepdaughter, Stefanie Bailey of Portland; stepson, Sean McGowan and his wife, Andrea, of Los Angeles, Calif.; stepdaughter, Sally and her husband, Jonathan McGinn, of Brunswick; stepgrandson, Jack Steven McGinn of Brunswick; a brother, Terrance Small and his wife, Margaret, of North Carolina; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her first husband, Stephen McGowan of Freeport. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 26 at Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, 230 Main St., Norway.
