MILFORD – Gardner F. Tibbetts, 80, died April 15, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility. He was born April 29, 1924, in Glenburn, the son of Vern and Lucy (Pinkham) Tibbetts. Gardner worked for George Maynard for a number of years operating heavy equipment. He also worked for Viner Shoe in Bangor for a number of years where he met his wife, Mary Louise (Whiting) Tibbetts who predeceased him. Gardner was fond of driving Ford trucks and cars and had a heart of gold. He is survived by a cousin, Sumner Pinkham of Glenburn, Joyce Leeman of Brewer and Ruth Caruso of Bangor; many friends, Freeman and Marilyn Cote of Milford, Joe and June St. Thomas of Milford, Harold and Leona Sargent of Milford, Mark and Eve Boutaugh and their family of Bradley, Jeff and Tracy Shorey and their family of Old Town, Martin and Emily Gonya and their family of Corinth, Robert and Michelle Young and their family of Hudson, Albert Young of Carmel and George and Elaine Maynard of Holden. A graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Birch Grove Cemetery, Glenburn. The family would like to thank the staff of the Family Practice of Old Town for taking such good care of him at his home during his illness. A service of Brookings-Smith, Bangor.
