ORIENT and JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – Mary Ellen Dwyer, 71, was welcomed unto the arms of her Lord and Savior, surrounded by family and friends at her home where she lived in Jacksonville, N.C. for the past five years. The sun rose on July 24, 1933 and set on April 17, 2005. Mary is survived by her four sons, Paul Dwyer, Virgil Dwyer Sr., Jack Hodgson and Forrest Gray; four daughters, Virginia St. Louis, Lisa Wyrick, Jean Dwyer and Sandy Nash; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Irvin, Joe and Earl Farrar; three sisters, Thersia Burpee, Helen Fitzpatarick and Arlene Lampbert; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Ansel and Alice (McDonald) Farrar; her husband, Eben Dwyer; two brothers, Lee and George Farrar; her son, Alvin Dwyer. Friends may call 2-45 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Dunn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Eddy Morin celebrant. A time of fellowship will be held in St. Anthony’s Hall following the service. Everyone is welcome to come and share in the memories of our beloved Mother and Grandmother. Interment will be in the Orient Cemetery.
