CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Gary L. Dorman Sr. died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004. Mr. Dorman, was born on Oct. 2, 1940, in Ashland, the son of Ada L. Stevens and Lewis C. Dorman. Mr. Dorman graduated from New England Institute of Anatomy, Boston, Mass. By trade, he was a licensed funeral director having worked in Maine, Massachusetts, Virginia, Maryland and New York. He was employed for more than 20 years by Stewart Enterprises, a corporation owning hundreds of funeral homes throughout the United States. After managing a Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home in Silver Spring, Maryland, Mr. Dorman retired as Area Director of Funeral Home Operations for New York state. Mr. Dorman was formerly Director of Membership of the Maine State Society of Washington, D.C. and was a member of the American Legion and the Sons of the American Revolution. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Donna (Peterson); three daughters and two sons, Gary L. Jr. (Kimberly) of Sterling, Va., Rick J. (Bonnie) of Cumberland, R.I., Kimberly A. Tibbetts (Lance) of Windham, Allison M. and Carley N., at home; a sister, Anna Lee Johnson Straight, (Mike Johnson) of Cape Coral, Fla.; a brother, Orin J. Higgins IV of Berryville, Va.; and two grandchildren, Sierra and Thomas Tibbetts of Windham. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Dorman has requested that donations be made to Hope Hospice of Lee County, 2430 Diplomat Parkway East, Cape Coral, FL 33990.
