LONGMEADOW, Mass. – Geneva Tuell Longmore, 87, died Saturday, May 13, 2006, at the Jewish Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Edmunds, the daughter of the late Roy and Mabel (Benner) Tuell of Dennysville. She was a former resident of Ruth’s House in Longmeadow, Mass. for eight years and a former longtime resident of Dennysville. Geneva was a second grade teacher in Woodland for 32 years. She was a graduate of Washington State Normal School and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Washington State Teacher’s College, Class of 1958. Geneva was a communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church in Pembroke and held many memberships including, Washington County Retired Teacher’s Association, Maine Retired Teacher’s Association, and the National Retired Teacher’s Association. She also held memberships with the Dennys River Historical Society and the Dennys River Leisure Club. Geneva was a former member of the Cathance Grange, Washington County Pomona and the Maine State Grange. Some of her favorite pastimes included solving crossword puzzles, listening to music, or reading a good book. In the late 1940’s and early 1950’s, she played the saxophone and piano for The Downeaster’s Band. She was the wife of the late John A. Longmore, formerly of East Longmeadow, Mass. and Dennysville who died in 1998. Geneva leaves her caretakers and stepchildren, Mrs. Mary Stacy of Wilbraham, Mass., Mrs. Gail Voit of West Dennis, Mass. and Hugh Longmore of Glastonbury, Conn.; six stepgrandchildren, David, Scott, Mark, Rusty, Mike, and Leann. A graveside service will be held noon Saturday, June 24, at Dennysville Cemetery, Dennysville. Contributions in her memory may be directed to the Grammar School of Somersville, Conn., P.O.
