JONESPORT – Genevieve (Faulkingham) Lamson, 92, died May 15, 2005, at Down East Community Hospital with her family by her side. She was born Jan. 1, 1913, in Jonesport, to Nathaniel and Althea (Beal) Faulkingham. She was a granddaughter of the legendary “Tall Barney Beal. She was a quiet, hardworking woman with a sense of humor and a fondness for singing. She loved her family most of all. Genevieve worked many years in the sardine factories in Jonesport until they all closed. She and her husband moved to Chester, Conn. for 10 years, where she worked at M.S. Brooks and Sons. They returned to Jonesport after retiring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vinton, in 1977; her only son, Leearnal, in 1991; and 12 brothers and sisters, Greta Lenfesty, Hattie Woodward, Etelka Faulkingham, Charlotte Burke, Maurice Beal, Hiram Faulkingham, Luther Faulkingham, Ira Faulkingham, Marie Faulkingham, Harvey Faulkingham, Winona Purington, and John Faulkingham. She is survived by three grandchildren, Deborah (Lamson) Beal and husband, Sonny, of Columbia, David Lamson, Dana Lamson and Paula, all of Jonesport; great-grandchildren, Candace Pileski and husband, Mike, Cassie Beal and Nick, Kristy Lamson and Scott, Katie, Kyle, Cody, and Casey Lamson; two great-great-grandsons, Damien Daris, and Dustin Rackliff; brother, Orval Faulkingham and wife, Gleness; sister, Marie Beal; and also many nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by Myrna Lamson. Visiting hours will take place 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church in Jonesport. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2005, at the church, with Pastor George Woodward, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias.
