PORTLAND – George C. Kennedy Jr., 69, of Portland and formerly of Naples died Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at a Portland nursing home. George was born in Portland, a son of George C. and Barbara E. Mallar Kennedy Sr. and was educated in the South Portland Schools. He attended the South Portland Church of the Nazarene and served in the U.S. Air Force. He drove as a truck driver and also worked at Yerxa’s Garden Center. His last employment was at Aubuchon Hardware. His hobbies included hunting and fishing when he was younger. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and was a past commander at the Am Vets in Naples. Surviving are his children, Clayton Kennedy, John F. Kennedy, Brenda Towers and Brenda Snyder; brothers and sisters, Florence Rich, Philip Kennedy, Anne Rodney, Lucille Carr Joe Kennedy and Jackie Hann; several grandchildren; also an aunt, Doris Faye Gardener of Old Town, many nieces and nephews. Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland.
