MILFORD – George F. Stormann, 82, passed away Friday Jan. 23, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 10, 1921, in Stillwater, son of the late Howard and Mable (Buck) Stormann. George was a graduate of Old Town High School, the Class of 1939. On Oct. 18, 1942, he married Natalie Adath Avery and they had lived in Milford for the past 44 years in a home he built. He served four years in the U.S. Army serving in the European and Pacific Theaters. Following his discharge, he attended Wentworth Institute and studied air conditioning and refrigeration. He worked for R.M. Flagg Co., Refrigeration Equipment Co. and retired from the University of Maine, Orono in 1986, after 20 years of service. George was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Milford and served on the Deaconate and Trustees. He was a member and past Master of the Star of the East Lodge No. 60 AF & AM of Old Town. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, working on his firewood, spending time at his camp and having his family and friends over to visit. He is survived and will be missed by his wife of 61 years, Natalie Adath (Avery) “Daphie”; his children, Wayne F. Stormann and his wife, Nita, of Cortland, N.Y., Warren A. Stormann and his wife, Pam, of Milford; three grandchildren, Natalie, Alexandria and Noam Stormann of Cortland, N.Y.; three stepgrandchildren, Kerrie and her husband, Jack Ford, of Waldo, Blaine and his wife, Nicole, of Old Town, Stephanie and her companion, Micky Godin, of Hermon; five great-grandchildren, Devon, Aleasha, Jordyn, Wyatt and Paige; three sisters, Prudence Hines of Brewer, Carlotta and her husband, Donald Cross, of Falmouth, Mass., Lucille and her husband, George Snedden, of Hermon; one brother, Ronald and his wife, Anna, of Titusville, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Stormann of Stillwater and Marie Stormann of Old Town; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Howard and Fenton. A celebration of life will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church of Milford with the Rev. Ron Chaffee officiating. Friends and family are invited to the Church Undercroft for a luncheon and continued fellowship immediately following the service. Interment will be held in the spring at the Milford Cemetery.
