WESTBROOK – Raymond Ernest Berry, 77, of Central Street died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at a Portland hospital. He was born in East Canton, Ohio, the son of Irvin and Gertrude A. Carl Berry. He moved to Westbrook 55 years ago. Raymond worked at the S.D. Warren Paper Co. for 38 years before retiring. He served in the Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 62, the Masonic Lodge-Saccarappa Lodge 86, and the Portland Shrine. His favorite hobby was camping, which he did seasonally for several years. He was predeceased by a daughter, Arlene E. Berry, in 1967; and a brother, Bernard Berry, in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Melvina A. Casey Berry of Westbrook; a son, Thomas R. Berry; daughter-in-law, Julie A. Berry of Bangor; a brother, Harold J. Berry of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Delores Donnelly of Rome, N.Y; a grandson, Matthew T. Berry; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook.
