GARLAND – George H. Nightingale, 57, died Oct. 8, 2004, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1947, in Garland, the son of Sidney and Alice (Ernest) Nightingale. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had been an employee of the Maine Central Railroad where he worked as a trackman and had been a longtime member of the Garland Fire Department. He is survived by a brother, Errol of Garland; two sisters, Carol Noble and her husband, Lee, of Naples, and Charlene Allen and her husband, Bill, of Key Colony Beach, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Corinthian Cemetery in Corinth. Cremation arrangements are by the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth.
