ETNA – Philip W. McPhetres, 76, died Oct. 9, 2004, at his home in Etna. He was born Dec. 22, 1927, in Sangerville, son of Ralph and J. Madelene (Smith) McPhetres. He worked for Hamilton Standard in Connecticut for 22 years, and was a member of the Elks Club in Windsor, Connecticut. In 1998, he moved back to Maine and made his home in Etna. He is survived by his wife, Maxine (Grant) McPhetres of Etna; a son and his wife, Dale and Jaydee McPhetres of Colorado; a daughter, Brenda McPhetres of Connecticut; two grandchildren, Matthew and Erin McPhetres of Colorado; stepgranddaughter, Wendy Tracy of Arizona; two brothers and their wives, Ralph and Irene McPhetres Jr., and Paul and Patricia McPhetres, all of Sangerville; three sisters and their husbands, Corretta and Frank Brown of Ripley, Jeanette and Dale Easler of Dexter, and Barbara and Dale Woodard of Sangerville; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery in Sangerville.
