WASHBURN and ETNA – George O. Randall, 89, died Monday Nov. 29, 2004, at his home in Etna. He was born Oct. 26, 1915, in Castle Hill the son of Berton and Eva (Alley) Randall. He married Frances E. Butterfield in 1935. George was employed as a master mechanic for the J.R. Chiancette Construction Co. while at the Loring Air Force Base for 10 years and then for the next 30 years for H.E. Sargent Construction Co., retiring at the age of 72. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus and the Odd Fellows Lodge. Hunting, fishing and spending time on his farm were his favorite things to do. Predeceasing him was a son, Burton Randall; three brothers, Delmar Eugene, Forrest and Sheldon Randall; and a sister, Lula Lovely. In addition to his wife, Frances E. Randall of Etna; he is survived by two sons, Clifford George Randall of Etna and Eugene W. Randall Sr. and his wife, Faye, of Dixmont; six daughters, Lorraine Garber and her husband, Ken, of Warrens, Wis., Lydia Sperry and her husband, Daryl, of Washburn, Georgenia Gaves and her husband, Stephen, of Etna, Abbie Fowler of Pittsfield, Jacqueline Wescott of Etna, and Jessica Hughes and her husband, Anthony, of Skowhegan, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, five sisters, Abby Bonner of Ashland, June Voyce of Mars Hill, Florence Kinney and her husband, John, of Bridgewater, Altine LaValley and Eva Berry both of Presque Isle. Relatives and friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted noon Thursday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Extention Cemetery in Washburn.
