JONESPORT – George W. Farnsworth, 63, of Masons Bay Road died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at the Downeast Community Hospital in Machias following a sudden illness. He was born Aug. 29, 1942, in Jonesport, the son of the late Alonzo and Gladys M. (Saindon) Farnsworth. Mr. Farnsworth was a lifelong fisherman, lobsterman and clam digger. He was a quiet and gentle soul who provided well for his family his whole life. He shared 38 years of marriage with his wife, Marlene (Kilton) Farnsworth. In addition to his wife, family members include three daughters, April Emerson and her husband, Dana, Lori Taylor and Jennifer Alley; seven grandchildren; siblings, Bernice Brooks of Cherryfield, Colleen Urquhart and her husband, Orrin, of Marshfield, Marie Ramsdell of Harrington and Paul Farnsworth and his wife, Jeanne, of Jonesport, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his four legged companion, Toebe, his golden retriever. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Alonzo Farnsworth Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Myrna Kilton Farnsworth. Services will be held 6 p.m. Friday, at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call at the funeral home 4 p.m. Friday until the hour of the service. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
