BANGOR – Georgia Walton, 79, passed away peacefully Feb. 3, 2007, at her residence. She was born May 27, 1927, in Springfield, Ohio, to Charles E. and Marguerite H. Schafer. Georgia was a graduate of Springfield South High School, Class of 1945. As a young woman, she was an active participant in Job’s Daughters and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. While married to the late Ramon A. Holland, Georgia was employed for many years by the Credit Life Insurance Co. She moved to Miami, in 1973, upon her marriage to the late Edward Walton. She enjoyed gardening, reading, visiting with her grandchildren and keeping in touch with lifelong friends including surviving alumni of the Ohio Masonic Home, Springfield, Ohio. She obtained pleasure from helping others and remained optimistic despite her on-going battle with severe arthritis. Georgia is survived by her son, Keith E. Holland and his wife, Paula, of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Seneca Holland of Athens, Ga., Katharine Holland of Greenfield, Christina Holland of Camden, Abaigael, Hannah and Nathanael Holland of Lincoln. She was predeceased by her parents, two former husbands; and grandson, Patrick. She will be sadly missed by her family and many dear friends. There will be no formal ceremony and she will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Park, New Carlisle, Ohio. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the charity of your choice.
