INDIAN TOWNSHIP – Georgia Tess Purdy, 31, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006. Georgia was born Aug. 22, 1975, in Hinsdale, Ill., the daughter of George and Judy (Hitchcock) Purdy. She was employed as an inspector for Creative Apparel. Georgia enjoyed reading, poetry, drawing and fishing with her daughter. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Edward and Katherine Purdy; her maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Hitchcock; and three uncles. Surviving are her parents, George and Judy Purdy of Indian Township; her daughter, Cheyanne Lewy of Indian Township; three sisters, her twin, Rita Purdy and Jessica Purdy, both of Indian Township, and Mary Purdy of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Edward Purdy of Columbia, Mo.; a half-sister, Tanna Ackley of East Machias; an aunt, Hazel Brown of Auburn; an uncle, Lester Purdy of Indian Township; and a dear friend, Jamie Bailey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Anne’s Mission, Peter Dana Point by Fr. Frank Morin. Burial will be at the Tribal Cemetery.
