INDIAN ISLAND – Nelson C. Francis, 62, son of the late Louise Paul, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006. He was born Jan. 15, 1944. Nelson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a mill worker in the paper manufacturing industry, a member of the American Legion and a Catholic. He was also a member of the Old Town Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Francis of Zephyrhills, Fla.; five sons, Alan, Aaron, Andy, Kurt and Keane Francis, all of Indian Island; six grandchildren and one great-grand-son; sister, Maxine Judson; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Keith Francis; brother, Joseph Francis and a sister, Pauline Daniels. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at St. Ann’s Church, Indian Island, where flowers and cards will be accepted.
