BLUE HILL – Gerald Everett Ryan, 71, died June 24, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 21, 1934, in Brooksville, the son of John J. and Vivian C. (Beede) Ryan. Gerald was a graduate of Brooksville High School, Class of 1952. After high school he served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1952-1972. While serving he received the National Defense Service Medal and a Bronze Star and served on J.F.K. Security detail At Martha’s Vineyard. He worked as a boat builder at the Flye Point Marine. He enjoyed George Stevens Academy Softball games and watching the Yankees. He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Giggey and husband, Dana, of Gray; four sons, Kenneth Ryan and wife, Annie, of Blue Hill, Patrick Ryan and wife, Deloris, of Brooksville, Timothy Ryan and companion, Donna Zosa, of Charlestown, R.I. and Gerry Ryan and companion, Antoinette Quirion, of Blue Hill; two brothers, John Ryan Jr., of Bancroft and Vernon Ryan and wife, Jeanette, of Brooksville; nine grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents. Graveside Services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at Edgewood Cemetery, Brooksville, with the Rev. Dale True, presiding.
