BREWER – Geraldine Frances “Gerry” Dyer, 79, a longtime resident of Bangor, and wife of the late Arthur “Mike” Dyer, died Feb. 6, 2008, at a Bangor health care center. She was born Oct. 30, 1928, in Brewer, the daughter of Florence and Orren Sproul. Gerry attended parochial schools and was a graduate of John Bapst High School, Class of 1947. She had been employed in the retail business at W.T. Grant Co. and retired in 1993 from Kmart. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda J. Twaddell and her husband, Russell Jr., Deborah L. Faucher and her husband, Kevin, all of Brewer; four grandchildren, Christopher Tenny of Brewer, Kevin Tenny and his wife, Angela, of Greer, S.C., Jillian Faucher of Bangor, and Erin Faucher of Brewer; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Annabelle; one sister, Pauline “Polly” McKay and her husband, Gerald; one brother, Bruce Sproul and his wife, Rose, all of Brewer; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Sproul. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Roland Nadeau, Catholic chaplain at St. Joseph Hospital, Bangor, officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to call noon until time of service Friday. Spring interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
