GERALDINE W. COFFEY WESTFIELD and PRESQUE ISLE – Geraldine W. Coffey, 93, of Southern Acres Boarding Home died May 21, 2005, peacefully after a lengthy time of failing health. She was born Aug. 1, 1911, in New Brunswick, Canada, a daughter of Abidjah and Lucy Willegar. She married her husband, Kenneth, June 6, and they were married for approximately 65 years until his death in July, 1992. She was a member of the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church in Presque Isle, having joined the church in February, 1936 and was active in the Women’s Club of the Church. Mrs. Coffey was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth A. Coffey; her daughter, Irene C. Ferris; and brothers, Leslie, John, Burton, Pearl; and a sister, Jean. She is survived by her son-in-law, Clyde L. Ferris of Topsham; a grandson, Steven K. Ferris and wife, Judy of Windham; a granddaughter, Cheryl L. Jacques of Old Orchard Beach; and a great- granddaughter, Lindsay M. Jacques, also of Old Orchard Beach; a nephew, Alton Perry and his wife, Jerry of Presque Isle; a nephew, Glendon Coffey and his wife, Betty, of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and two special nieces, Kathleen Brown of Washburn, and Gayle Hoffses of Presque Isle; and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the Duncan Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Pastor Lawrence Beals, officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, and also on Thursday, from 12 until time of service. Interment will be held at Fairmount Cemetery. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Irene C. Ferris, RN, Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund, Development Office, Husson College, College Circle, Bangor, ME. Geraldine was very proud of her daughter’s nursing career.
