DANIEL A. DANFORTH GUILFORD – Daniel A. Danforth, 82, passed away peacefully May 20, 2005, at his home, with his family by his side. He was born July 8, 1922, in Portland, son of the late Daniel Danforth and Anna (Sanford) Marchese. He graduated from Richmond High School, Richmond, in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army from 1939 to 1946, and then went on to earn a degree in electronics at the Boston School of Electronics in Boston, Mass. Daniel married his wife of 60 years, Martha (Horton) Danforth, and settled in Guilford, where he was best known as the local TV repairman. He also worked a second job for many years as a warp-tier at Guilford Industries. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Sangerville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Frank and his wife, Debbie, of Buckfield; a daughter, Bonnie and her fianc?, Ron Hall, of Guilford; three grandchildren, Daniel J. Danforth of Buckfield, Jaime-Lyn Gilbert and her husband, Trey, of Guilford, and Miranda Durant and her boyfriend, Kurt Ouellette, of Guilford; three great-grandchildren, Bryce and Kobe Gilbert, and Aliyah Ouellette, all of Guilford; a brother, Vincent Marchese and two nephews Vinnie and Jim, all of Portsmouth, N.H.; a brother-in-law, Gil Horton of Montana. Daniel enjoyed sports and gardening. He will be sadly missed by his family. A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2005, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sangerville, with the Rev. Fr. James Robichaud officiating.
