VAN BUREN – Gerard E. Madore, 68, died unexpectedly Aug. 31, 2006, at a Caribou hospital as a result of an accidental fall at his home. He was born June 23, 1938, in Van Buren, the son of Robert and Jeannette (Ouellette) Madore. He was the owner and operator of G. E. Madore Construction, Inc., Van Buren for 30 years. Gerard was active in his community as a member of the Van Buren Budget Committee, the Capital Improvement Committee and Community Development. He was a former member of the Van Buren Lions Club and Snowmobile Club. Gerard is survived by his loving wife of nearly 47 years, Carline (Rossignol) Madore of Van Buren; one daughter, Shiela Cannon and her husband, Thomas “Randy” Cannon, of Van Buren; seven brothers, Rene Violette of Grand Isle, Clarence Madore of East Hartford, Conn., Norman Madore, Michael Madore and Dean Madore, all of Van Buren, Robert Madore Jr. of Manchester, Conn., and Donald Madore of Arizona; seven sisters, Carlene Ruest and Diane Parent, both of Van Buren, Norma Cloutier of Campbellton, New Brunswick, Patricia Stewart of Caribou, Robertine St. Pierre of Cyr Plantation, Nancy Byram of Siegas, New Brunswick, and Joan Beaulieu of Biddeford; two granddaughters, Kristi Raymond and Angie Butts; five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Madore; and by a sister, Jeannine Martin. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be in the parish cemetery.
