LINCOLN and PALM CITY, Fla. – Lawrence R. Ewing, 90, husband of Lela (Kimery) Ewing, died Sept. 1, 2006, at a Stuart, Fla., health care facility. He was born April 20, 1916, in West Enfield, the son of Roland and Mabel (Curtis) Ewing. Lawrence was a veteran of World War II. He and his former wife, Gladys, owned and operated Ewing’s Market, Main Street, Lincoln for many years. He had been a member of the Odd Fellows. In addition to his wife, Lela, he is survived by three daughters, Marion Bosley of South Burlington, Vt., Muriel Najarian of Shelburne, Vt., and Lynda Swiatek of Stafford Springs, Conn.; a sister, Stacia Mason of Lincoln; five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to Gladys, he was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Hope St. Thomas; and four sisters, Madeline Shorey, Kay Gary, Louetta Richardson and Mae Shorey. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Young officiating.
