MADAWASKA – Germaine Cyr, 78, died Feb. 14, 2005, at a Madawaska nursing home. She was born Nov. 2, 1926, in Madawaska, the daughter of Donat and Egline (Bouchard) Pelletier. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Daughters of Isabella and the Ladies of St. Anne, as well as an R.S.V.P. volunteer. Germaine had recently been nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Remember Me Project through the Maine Health Care Association. She is survived by one son, Clifford Cyr and his wife, Shirley, of Frenchville; four brothers, Clifford Pelletier of St. David, Paul Pelletier and his wife, Lauria, and Ronald (Jos) Pelletier and his wife, Odette, all of Madawaska, Gilbert Pelletier and his wife, Leola, of Kensington, Conn.; five sisters, Gilmay Theriault of Madawaska, Marie Mae Chamberland and Joan Ouellette and her husband, Bob, all of St. Agatha, Jeanne Gagnon and her husband, Nelson, of Van Buren, Jeannette Morneault and her husband, Armand, of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Chrissy and her husband, Migel Torres and Nicholas; two great-grandchildren, Desiree and Michael; one sister-in-law, Claire Pelletier; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Armand Cyr; and one brother, Alby Pelletier. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Friends and relatives may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday at the Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
