OLD TOWN – Germaine T. Roy, 73, passed away March 17, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Feb. 5, 1935, the daughter of Joseph and Cecelia (Brooks) Roy. Germaine graduated from Old Town High School in 1954. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Old Town, a member of the Daughters of Isabella and very active with the senior citizens. She was an awesome knitter; she loved to give her creations to her nieces and nephews. She spent countless hours doing puzzles and was a loving caretaker for many children. Germaine also had a great love for cats and she enjoyed her time going to yard sales. Germaine was predeceased by her father, Jospeh Roy; and one sister, Rita-Ann Roy. She is survived by her mother, Cecelia Roy of Old Town; two brothers, James Roy and his wife, Jeanne, of Old Town, and Richard C. Roy and his wife, Carol, of Ledyard, Conn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She will be remembered by very special friends, Georgette, Chris, Woody, Kay and numerous others. The family sends a special thank you to everyone at Eastern Maine Medical Center for the wonderful care Germaine received during her recent illness. Visiting hours will be held 1-3 p.m. Thursday, March 20, with a funeral service 3 p.m. at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where the Daughters of Isabella will be reciting the rosary. There will be a luncheon immediately after the service at Holy Family Church, 429 Main St., Old Town.
