MILBRIDGE – James Thomas Sawyer, 16, died Monday, March 17, 2008, at a Portland health care facility. He was born Oct. 11, 1991, in Machias, the son of Neil and Lucille (Berdonar) Sawyer of Milbridge. James attended schools in Milbridge. Most recently, James resided in a residential care facility in Portland due to his autism and seizure disorder. A very active young boy, James loved arts, crafts, Barney, the “Price is Right,” running and jumping. There was always a smile on his face and he loved to give hugs. In addition to his parents of Milbridge, family members include two sisters, Jill and Joyce Sawyer, both of Milbridge; paternal grandmother, Joyce Sawyer of Harrington; and maternal grandfather, Eogenio Berdonar of Nabas Aklan, Philippines. He was loved and will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by a paternal grandfather, Robert Sawyer; and a maternal grand-mother, Rosaura Berdonar. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, at St. Michael Church, School Street, Cherryfield. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call 9 a.m. Monday until the hour of the service at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge. Private family burial will be after at Evergreen Cemetery, Milbridge.
