LIMESTONE – Gertrude M. Albert, 101, passed away July 19, 2008, at a Van Buren health facility. Gertrude was born Nov. 27, 1906, in Limestone, the daughter of Michael and Emily (Goodine) McLaughlin. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Louis Catholic Church, a charter member of Daughters of Isabella and of Ladies of St. Anne. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy, Portland and Aroostook State Normal School, Presque Isle. She was the current holder of the Boston Post Cane. She is survived by two sons, Paul of Riverview, Fla., and John and his wife, Elizabeth, of Limestone; and two daughters, LouAnn Watt and husband, Albert, of Cross Lake and Barbara Brock of Tampa, Fla. She will be missed and remembered by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchil-dren and great-great-grand-children. She always enjoyed their many visits. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Thomas, Oct. 13, 1976; four brothers and three sisters. The family wishes to express their greatest appreciation to the administration and staff of BorderView Rehabilitation and Living Center for the love, care and concern for their mother. At her request, there will be no viewing hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone, with Father Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. Interment will take place after the service at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone. There will be refreshments offered in the church fellowship hall after the interment. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to St. Louis Catholic Church or Robert Frost Memorial Library Building Fund.
