HOWLAND – Gertrude M. Chamberlain, 96, wife of the late Otis Chamberlain, died July 8, 2005, at a Howland healthcare facility. She was born Jan. 29, 1909, in Bradford, the daughter of Marden and Annie Mae (Morrey) Keene. Gertrude enjoyed sitting in the garage. She enjoyed traveling, going for a ride and eating out. She loved visiting with her grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Anna M. Leighton of Burlington; a daughter-in-law, Mary Chamberlain of Howland; three grandchildren, Lori and Larry Harris of West Enfield, Susan and Michael Foster of Howland and Dawn Chamberlain and Chip Sirois of Windsor; three great-grandchildren, Bradley Harris and Brian Harris of West Enfield and Kati Foster of Howland; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Chester Chamberlain and Arthur Eugene Chamberlain; eight brothers and sisters. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Sunday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Maria Guereca officiating. Interment will be in Howland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to either the Gene Chamberlain Scholarship Fund or Cummings’ Healthcare Facility Activities Fund.
