GLENBURN – Gladys S. Goodwin, 92, wife of the late Milford H. Goodwin, died Aug. 7, 2007, at a Bangor health care center. She was born Oct. 18, 1914, in Glenburn, daughter of Ernest E. and Bessie (Jackson) Megquier. Gladys was a member of the Glenburn Evangelical Covenant Church. Since age 14, Gladys had been an active member of the grange, serving for many years in numerous capacities of the Pleades Grange of Glenburn. She was also a member of Penobscot Pomona where she had been secretary and pianist and was a member of the State and National Granges. Gladys loved her Lord, children, people and will be remembered as a most gracious lady. Surviving are nieces, Alma Johnson and Rita Shaw, both of Glenburn, Hilda Brown of Bangor, Lucille Randall of Corinth, Patricia and her husband, Frank Hitchings, of Virginia, Margaret West of Texas, Marjorie Baldwin of Hampden, and Maribeth Waite of Pennsylvania; several cousins; and very special friends, Charles and Nonie Berry of Glenburn, and Clyde Berry of Vermont. In addition to her husband, Milford, she was predeceased by two brothers, Elmer L. Megquier and W. Henry Megquier, both of Glenburn. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Glenburn Evangelical Covenant Church, Glenburn, with the Rev. Gregory DuBois, pastor and the Rev. Donald L. Olson officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Glenburn. Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the church 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of service. The family invites those attending to share conversation and refreshments at the church, after the services.
