WINTERPORT – Glendon C. “Bung” Ward, 71, beloved husband of Louise E. (Perkins) Ward, died unexpectedly, Sept. 2, 2005, at a Bangor hospital with his family at his side. He was born July 23, 1934, in Newburgh, the son of Earl A. and Iola E. (Bicknell) Ward. Bung, as he was known to all, loved life, being a cattle dealer, but most of all, he loved his family. He was a friend to many and was blessed to have many friends. Bung enjoyed a spirited cribbage game, telling stories, hearing a good story, and had a sincere interest in everyone he met. He was a member of Archon Masonic Lodge No. 75, AF & AM, of Dixmont and the Anah Temple Shrine, Valley of Bangor. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Louise of Winterport; four children, Debra Boss and her husband, Michael, of Hampden, Diane Moma and her husband, Paul, of Wasilla, Alaska, Steven Ward of Brunswick and Kerry Ward of Winterport; six grandchildren, Adam and Brienne Boss, Makaela, Luke and Megan Moma and Nicolas Ward; one great-grandchild, Lauren Boss; three sisters, Barbara Colson of Hudson, N.H., Eleanor Whitcomb and Zelma Young and her husband, Robert, all of Newburgh; special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Langdon Ward; one sister, Christine Hamilton; and a great-nephew, Chad Young. Family and friends may visit 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, and 11 a.m.- noon Wednesday at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden where a celebration of his life will be held noon Wednesday, with the Rev. Dr. Debra J. Hanson, pastor of the Hampden Highland United Methodist Church, officiating. A continued time of fellowship and refreshments will immediately follow at the fellowship hall of the Hampden Highlands United Methodist Church, 44 Kennebec Rd., Hampden. Burial will be private at Brookside Cemetery, Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, gestures of remembrance may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network, care of Eastern Maine Charities, P.O.
