BANGOR and EAST MILLINOCKET – Glenwood A. Brewer, 80, died Sunday, May 21, 2006 at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Bangor. He was born May 10, 1926, in East Millinocket, the son of Jerry and Pearl (Thompson) Brewer. Glen proudly served his country during World War II by enlisting in the U.S. Navy, serving in the South Pacific Theatre. After the service, Glen returned to East Millinocket to start work for Great Northern Paper Company. He worked for the company for 44 years retiring in 1987. Glen had a great love for music, dancing and family. His kind heart and generosity will always be remembered and he will be sadly missed. He was predeceased by his first wife, Fedelma “Del” (Clark) Brewer; his second wife, Marion “Peggy” Grass Brewer; an infant son, two grandchildren, Kristi and Nathan; and one stepson, Richard. He is survived by his wife, Leona (Duffy) Brewer of Bangor; six children, Lynne Haseltine and husband, Clif, of Pinellas Park, Fla., Pam Brewer of Millinocket, Wayne Brewer of Newmarket, N.H., Terry Brewer and wife, Andrea, of Gardiner, Michelle Brewer and special friend, Hippy, of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Kelley Brewer of Millinocket; grandchildren, Tom, Patrick, Jodi, Dawn, Cory, Charlie, Troy, Casey, Julie, Aaron, Adam, Michael, Keri, Chris, and Nick; 12 great-grandchildren, nine step-children, Bonita, Rebecca, Mary Lee, Mae, Ann, Debra, Wanda, John and Jill; and many stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren; his brother, Gary Brewer; and his sister, Mona King, both of East Millinocket; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 26, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. Burial with military honors will be held at East Millinocket Cemetery. After the graveside services friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life at the home of Gary Brewer, 53 Spruce St., East Millinocket.
