WHITNEYVILLE – Gloria A. Chamberlain, 79, wife of the late Tyler Chamberlain, died Nov. 4, 2007, at her home. She was born Dec. 23, 1927, in Swampscott, Mass., the daughter of Leroy and Marie (Bourque) Perry. Gloria worked for New England Telephone for several years as a telephone operator. She enjoyed supporting projects for the Whitneyville community and church, including Senior Companion program in the Greater Machias area. Gloria enjoyed cooking, especially cooking for other people. She is survived by many close friends including, the Whitneyville quilting group, Mike and Christine Day, Connie and Dwaine Sylvia, Sheri and Billy Holland, Betty Duzen, Olive Healey and Shirley and Warren Pope. Gloria was shortly followed by her sweetest K-9 companion, “Smoki.” A service of remembrance will be celebrated 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Whitneyville Congregational Church, with Pastor Betty Duzen officiating.
