CAPE ELIZABETH – Gloria Jean (Bernard) Pinkham, 72, wife of the late Dana C. Pinkham, died unexpectedly Jan. 24, 2005, at her home in Cape Elizabeth. She was born Oct. 5, 1932, in West Enfield, the daughter of Edward and Celia (Beaulieu) Bernard. Gloria enjoyed reading home decorating magazines, gardening and traveling. She lived in Florida for several winters after her retirement and was a very loving, caring and self sufficient woman right up to the time of her death. She enjoyed social gatherings where she would engage in stimulating conversations about current events. Never one not to smile, she regularly attended the Senior Friends weekly dance, and always dressed for success. Gloria enjoyed the happenings of city life-the theater, music, etc. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, and attended Holy Cross Church in South Portland. In addition to her husband, Dana C., who died in 1995, she was predeceased by a son, Dana Pinkham Jr., in 1996; and a brother, George Bernard in 1987. She is survived by three children, Rachel Manning, Michael Pinkham and David Pinkham; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Lorraine Day and Priscilla Reynolds; two brothers, Edward Bernard and Francis Bernard; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the spring at St. Leo Catholic Church, Howland, with the Rev. Andre Houle presiding. Spring interment will be in West Enfield Cemetery.
