NEW SWEDEN – Joanne Beckstrom Thompson, 74, died Jan. 25, 2005, at Bangor. She was born Sept. 5, 1930, in New Sweden, the daughter of Herman and Marion (Anderson) Beckstrom Sr. Mrs. Thompson was a faithful member of the New Sweden Baptist Church and was also a member of Elizabeth Chapter Order of Eastern Star. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Sears and Roebuck and for many years at Casco Northern Bank. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her aunt, Muriel Beckstrom of Waltham, Mass.; niece, Linda Beckstrom; and nephew, Eric Beckstrom, both of Texas; and numerous cousins. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, until time of funeral services which will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Moore, officiating. Interment will be in the New Sweden Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Thompson may do so through the First Baptist Church of New Sweden Memorial Fund.
