LEWISTON – Gloria J. Strout, 53, of East Avenue, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at her daughters home after a long illness. Born March 11, 1951, in Mount Dessert Island, the daughter of Ira and Charlotte (Patterson) Strout. She was a graduate of Mount Dessert High School. She enjoyed tole painting and knitting. Prior to her illness she was employed by Bantan Wood Products. She is survived by her mother of Burnham; a daughter, Tammy Kimball and her fianc‚, Michael Hewett, of Lewiston; a son, Wade and his wife, Nicole Strout, of Bass Harbor; four sisters, Donna Phelps of Englewood, Fla., and Boothbay Harbor, Marcia Damon of Burnham, Beverly and her husband, Brian King, of Burnham, Trudy White of Augusta; four brothers, Clifford Strout of Poland, Eugene and his wife, Roberta Strout, of Bar Harbor, Clayton and his wife, Denise Strout, of Manset, and Arnold and his wife, Sue Strout, of Dixmont; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father; her long time companion, William Felker; one sister, Nancy Dunkel; and one brother, Dennis Strout. Services will be private. Spring Burial will be in Newport, to be announced later in the spring by the family owned Pinette Funeral Homes.
