BANGOR – Gloria L. Ziegler, 78, wife of the late Robert Ziegler, passed away Dec. 8, 2004, at Bangor healthcare center surrounded by her family. She was born in Caribou, Oct. 7, 1926, the daughter of Ezra N. and Grilda (Whiteneck) Smith. Lalene attended Caribou schools. She was a cashier and bookkeeper for the A & P Tea Co., in Presque Isle and Brewer for 32 years. She later worked at Skip’s Yankee Grocer where she was a cashier for 12 years. She was an extremely talented seamstress, knitter and upholster, as well as a wonderful cook. She loved her cats, Bubb and Sis, which were a big part of her life. She is survived by three children, Bobbie Ingraham and David of Veazie, Steven Ziegler and Andrea Tupper of Lakeland, Fla., David Ziegler of Orono; one sister, Marjorie Briggs of East Holden; sister-in-law, Maxine Smith of Brewer; two granddaughters, Deborah Ingraham of Portland, Angela Munson and husband, John, of Boston, Mass.; two cousins, Glenda Smith and Glenna Langley, both of Caribou. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Galen Smith. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson, officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. Spring interment will be at Harts Corner Cemetery, Holden. The family wants to express their many thank you’s to the caring and compassionate staff at Westgate Manor for the loving care extended to Gloria and the entire family.
