WESTFIELD – Mae I. Lawrence, 59, went home to be with her Lord, with her husband and daughter at her bedside, on Dec. 7, 2004. She was born Jan. 16, 1945, in St. John Plantation, the daughter of Gladys (Caron) Sturgeon. Mae was a graduate of Glen Cove Christian Academy. She went on to work at Aroostook Shoe, Converse, as a stitcher, and several potato packaging facilities. She was a past member of the Fort Fairfield Community Wesleyan Church, teaching Sunday school and junior church. She was a caregiver first to her sister-in-law and then to her brother-in-law. Mae loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Murray Lawrence Jr. of Westfield; a daughter, Tara Lunney and her husband, Peter of Westfield; four grandchildren, Zackarie Ward, Jared Cyrus, Julia Mae and Ashleigh Ty Lunney, all of Westfield; three sisters, Doreen MacDougal of Palmer, Alaska, Arlene MacDougal of Fort Fairfield, Pauline MacDougal of Fort Fairfield; a brother, Roy Sturgeon of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews, including one special niece, Laurie York. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Tardy. At the family’s request, there will be no visitation or service.
