BEALS – Gloria T. Seavey, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday morning, May 2, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Aug. 4, 1929, in Somesville, the daughter of the late Joshua and Helen (Trussell) Alley. Mrs. Seavey worked as a fish packer for many years and also worked for Carver Shellfish, Beals, where she shucked clams, retiring in 1993. She was a lifelong member of Beals Wesleyan Church, Beals, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Gloria had great enjoyment going for rides back to Beals Island, where she enjoyed visiting several times a day. She was happiest in the car and also enjoyed going for coffee. She shared 59 years of marriage with her loving husband, Lyman Seavey. In addition to her husband, family members include two daughters, Isabelle Martin and husband, Gary, of Harrington and Anna McGee and husband, Don, of Missouri; grandchildren, Clark Woodward and wife, Renee, John Woodward, Darlene Norton and husband, Spencer, Richard James and wife, Debbie, Robert James and wife, Carol, Steven James, Ray James and wife, Crystal, and Gloria Cahill and husband, Shawn; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Alberta Tenney of Bangor; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by siblings, Wilford Alley, Amiziah Alley, Lewis, Kathleen (Alley) Faulkingham and Thelma Clough. Services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Beals Wesleyan Church, Elm Street, Beals, with the Rev. Jesse Merchant officiating. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit 1 p.m. until the hour of the service Tuesday at the church. Burial will be after the service at Great Wass Cemetery, Beals.
