BAR HARBOR – Gordon “Bunk” E. Davis Sr., 74, died Nov. 16, 2006, at Mount Desert Island Hospital. He was born Oct. 28, 1932, at Otter Creek, the son of Martin and Mildred (Chubbard) Davis. Gordon worked as a master mechanic in Bristol, Conn., and locally for many years. He was a great transmission mechanic and was employed at Dow Motors and Morang Robinson. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and just having a good time with family and friends. Gordon is survived by his wife, Thelma (Gilley) Davis; two daughters, Linda Boisvert and husband, Paul, of Bar Harbor and Laura Norton and husband, Richard, of Tolland, Conn.; two sons, Jeff Davis and fiance, Inger Kopf, of Ellsworth and Jim Davis and wife, Alice, of Orland; step-daughters, Martha Buzzell and husband, Gary, of Southwest Harbor, Beverly Fickett and husband, Eric and Barbara Sullivan, all of Bar Harbor; one brother, Robert Davis Sr. of Bar Harbor; one sister, Grace Rodd of California; 12 grandchildren, two great-grand-children; and a special friend, John Hinckley. He was predeceased by his son, Gordon “Skip” Davis Jr.; and a sister, Mildred Wilkinson. Friends are invited to call 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Jordan-Fernald, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor, with Fr. John O’Hara officiating.
