STACYVILLE – Gordon Estabrook Astle, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior Feb. 27, 2008, at Mountian Heights Healthcare, Patten. He was born Sept. 18,1916, in Linneus, the son of Earl and Gladys (Estabrook) Astle. His life revolved around ser-ving others. Gordon was a lov-ing and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His family was really important to him. Gordon was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, Stacyville. He spent many years working there after he retired from farm work. He considered it his extended family. He is survived by three sons, Elbridge and his wife, Ella, Butch and his wife, Harriet, and Wayne, all of Sher-man; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 67 years, Elthea; and one sister, Pauline. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 3, at Calvary Baptist Church, Stacyville, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Donnis Willigar Jr. officiating.
