BAILEYVILLE – Gordon “Gordie” Derek Corbett, 23, died unexpectedly at his grand parents residence on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004. Gordie was born Dec. 18, 1980, in Calais, the son of Betty Corbett and Robert Meserve. Gordie lived in Baileyville with his mother, Betty Corbett and very special friend John Murray. Gordie enjoyed basketball, baseball and being with his family. He was learning to weld from his father to become a journeyman welder. Gordie was predeceased by his paternal great-grandfather, Carroll Corbett; maternal great-grandparents, Warren and Madeline Doten; and his grandfather, Gordon Meserve. Gordie is survived by his mother, Betty Corbett of Baileyville; his father, Robert Meserve of Baileyville; John Murray who was a very special friend; brother, Matthew; and sister, Jennifer Fullerton; grandparents, Lloyd and Gloria Corbett; grandmother, Sherrill Meserve; great-grandmothers, Phyllis Davis and Stella Bass; uncles, Rocky Meserve and Aaron Murray; many cousins, aunts and uncles. Graveside services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville. Arrangements by Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, Calais.
