BLAINE – Gordon H. Holmes, 68, went home to be with the Lord after a long illness Tuesday Nov. 8, 2005, with his family by his side, at the Mars Hill Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 14, 1937, the son of Harold and Helen Holmes. Gordon had attended Bridgewater schools. He was a truck driver for many years with Vahlsings, Inc. Easton, until his accident in 1975. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Harold and Helen Holmes; sister Azelia Shaw; a nephew Dennis Shaw of Toronto, Ontario; a niece Jane St. Amand of Demorest, Ga. He is survived by his sister Mary Louise Richards of Blaine; many nieces and nephews; Kristy and her husband, Jerry Carlan, of Demorest, Ga., Jody Richards also of Demorest, Ga., Chloe Rideout and Chris Russell of Blaine, Vicky Richards and Kevin Peers of Westfield, Penny Richards of Blaine, Frederick L. Richards Jr. of Blaine, Cindy Shaw, Sherry Bryant, Greg Shaw, Wayne Shaw and Tim Shaw, of Ontario, Canada; several great-nieces and nephews. He had two great CPA’S who he loved that were his home health nurses before entering the nursing home, Sharon Crouse and Debbie McEntee. Also many nurses, who cared for him in the past year at the nursing home, our thanks go out to you all, but there was one special angel whom will always be remembered that went beyond the call of duty and you know who you are. We thank you and God bless you always. A graveside service will be conducted 10 am. Friday at Boundary Line Cemetery in Bridgewater with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating.
